Center Staff
Donna Myers
Center Director: Welcome to Nashville, otherwise known as “Music City”! I have enjoyed working with international students for 10 years, and have been fortunate to meet so many smart, warm, and interesting people! Having traveled and lived overseas myself, I have struggled with many of the challenges our students face living in a “strange” place and learning a new language. Nashville is a great place to study and explore. The people are friendly, there is lots of great music, and you cannot beat the cost of living!

As the Academic Director in Nashville, I enjoy developing curriculum and working with staff and students to create a quality academic program and to further students’ and instructors’ professional goals. I look forward to presenting courses I have developed at the yearly TESOL conference. Before coming to ELS Nashville, I taught at Vanderbilt University and completed a post doc at the Kennedy Center, at Vanderbilt University, developing a peer-assisted writing program; peer-assisted learning is a continuing research interest of mine.

Most of my life I have enjoyed knowing people from all over the world. I even lived in another country for two years with, my husband and daughters. During those years, I tried to learn Arabic and French, so I know how important and challenging it is to learn a new language! I love my job at ELS helping students reach their personal, educational, and career goals as they learn English in Nashville.
