Center Information
Our ELS Language Center in Ashland, Oregon is on the campus of Southern Oregon University, and is located just north of the California border. Because Ashland is about halfway between Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, both cities make excellent weekend trips. Ashland is home of the famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival, drawing 400,000 visitors a year to Southern Oregon. The surrounding mountains provide beautiful views from everywhere in town and offer outdoor activities such as snowboarding, skiing and rafting.

Center Staff
Jodi Weber
Hello from ELS Ashland! I am the Center Director. I have an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language. Working with students from all over the world is so much fun and such a privilege. Learning another language is a huge challenge. It’s always rewarding to see students’ progress. Grammar and reading are my favorite aspects of language. When I’m not working, I love being outdoors – usually riding my bike, working in my garden, or (in the winter) snowshoeing.

As Academic Director at ELS/Ashland, I’ll help you with your placement and classes. I look forward to welcoming new students to beautiful southern Oregon. I have an M.A. in TESL and have taught for many years both in the U.S. and in other countries. I am enthusiastic about helping international students reach their English goals. In my free time, I enjoy skiing and sailing with family and friends.

I am the Registrar for ELS Ashland. I have 10 years experience living near an African community in the US, and I have also traveled to China. I enjoy learning more about the lifestyles and cultural difference of students from other countries. I am available to help students with daily needs and to find local resources to make life more comfortable during your stay.
