Center Staff
Ann Willis
Center Director: I grew up in England and moved to the U.S. in 1983. After a career in customer service management and direct marketing, I returned to graduate study in English and then joined the ELS Language Centers in California as an instructor. I have now worked with international students as a teacher and administrator for over 10 years, both in the U.S. and UK. Helping people from around the world learn about our language and culture is a continuing pleasure for me.
Carl LeCroy
Teacher: I bring into the classroom my experiences studying and teaching in Germany and China, where I improved my proficiency in German and Chinese. Students sometimes ask about my years in Washington, D.C. where I taught English to diplomatic and other international personnel. Non-teaching jobs there brought me into daily contact with Congressional staffs. I often like to bring a touch of humor into class discussions of history, art, cultural differences and the occasional craziness of English spelling and usage.
Ravinder Manku
Teacher: My name is Ravinder Manku and I have been teaching ESL since 1992. As an ESL teacher I have taught English in Japan, Canada, and the United States. I have been with ELS Atlanta since August 2005. In 1996 I received my graduate degree in education from the University of Minnesota.
Irving Penso
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I am a current ELS employee and have been for 32 years. I have acted in all capacities at ELS save Registrar and ISA. Prior to my ELS commitment, I taught in both elementary and high school. This stint followed the nearly five years I spent in Brazil, two in the Peace Corps and three as an EFL teacher. I currently reside in Atlanta with my lovely family and my many memories of ELS.
