Center Staff

Molly Swift
Center Director: I was born in Kansas City, but have spent most of my life in New England. After graduating College with a BA in Sociology and Education, I worked as a teacher at ELS Language Centers. My career with ELS developed into positions as Academic Director for 2 different ELS Centers. I have also taught ESL in Community College and other adult settings. I have been a Center Director for almost 20 years – the last 10 years in Boston. I love meeting students and colleagues from all parts of the world.

Marie Silva
Academic Director: I have been associated with ELS/Boston for 21 years. I first started teaching in the Special Programs Division and then moved into the regular program where I remained as an instructor for 20 years. The past year has been spent serving as the new Academic Director for our center. My previous ESL experience came from having lived and taught in corporate programs and private institutions in Brazil.

Julian Garcia Roberts
Registrar: I arrived in the United States in 1996 from Cuba and started working as the Registrar at ELS in Boston in August 2001. In my country of birth I had accumulated 15 years working in planning, budget control and accounting. I attended the University of Havana for two years pursuing a degree in accounting and more recently 2 semesters at the Rhode Island College in the same major. Although not an educator, I enjoy being part of our students ELS experiences.

Bonnie Ryle
International Student Advisor: As the newest member to ELS Boston I hold a BA in Spanish and am a certified TEFL instructor. Recently returning to Boston from Spain, where I taught English in various academies and Fortune 500 companies, I love being an ISA and arranging fun activities. In my spare time I am an ESL writing specialist at our host institution, Mt. Ida College. I also love to read wine taste, dance, and shop.
