Our ELS Language Center in Boston, Massachusetts is located on the campus of Mount Ida College, 13 kilometers from downtown Boston. Boston is a city best known for its prestigious universities including Harvard, Boston University and M.I.T. The English for Executives Program is designed for junior and mid-level professionals who want to combine general English practice along with career-specific communication training. The English for Executives Program consists of three 50-minutes interactive group lessons and three personalized, 50-minute one-to-one lessons each day in ELS group classes. The course length may be two or four weeks, beginning on any of the 26 year-round Intensive English Program start dates.

The ELS Super Intensive English Program is the fastest way to improve English proficiency. This course combines highly concentrated, one-to-one instruction and a curriculum targeted specially to the participant’s needs. Courses are individually designed based upon level of English ability, desired language use and outcomes, and length of time available for study. This program can begin on any Monday and may last for one week to four weeks or more. The Super Intensive Program consists of either 20, 30 or 45 private, 50-minute lessons each week, taught on a Monday to Friday schedule. ELS will provide assistance with accommodation arrangements.

For maximum results in just one week’s time, the Super Intensive Plus Program is the best choice for a busy executive. This highly rigorous course consists of 70 lessons, 50 minutes each, of combined in-class instruction and out-of-class cultural activities, generally taught from Monday through Sunday. Super Intensive Plus is ideal in preparation for an important business presentation or meeting in the United States. Due to the intensity of this program, intermediate English proficiency is highly recommended. ELS will provide assistance with accommodation arrangements.

Scholarships/Discounts
After completion of the full ELS Intensive English Program qualified students may receive credit for ELS and/or tuition discounts at select host universities and colleges, once they matriculate.
Access to Campus Facilities/Services
ELS students may use many of the facilities at our host college/university for free (or low cost) during their studies. Available facilities may vary, but usually include a fitness center, swimming pool, campus library, tennis court, and more.

Center Staff
Molly Swift
Center Director: I was born in Kansas City, but have spent most of my life in New England. After graduating College with a BA in Sociology and Education, I worked as a teacher at ELS Language Centers. My career with ELS developed into positions as Academic Director for 2 different ELS Centers. I have also taught ESL in Community College and other adult settings. I have been a Center Director for almost 20 years – the last 10 years in Boston. I love meeting students and colleagues from all parts of the world.
Marie Silva
Academic Director: I have been associated with ELS/Boston for 21 years. I first started teaching in the Special Programs Division and then moved into the regular program where I remained as an instructor for 20 years. The past year has been spent serving as the new Academic Director for our center. My previous ESL experience came from having lived and taught in corporate programs and private institutions in Brazil.
Julian Garcia Roberts
Registrar: I arrived in the United States in 1996 from Cuba and started working as the Registrar at ELS in Boston in August 2001. In my country of birth I had accumulated 15 years working in planning, budget control and accounting. I attended the University of Havana for two years pursuing a degree in accounting and more recently 2 semesters at the Rhode Island College in the same major. Although not an educator, I enjoy being part of our students ELS experiences.
Bonnie Ryle
International Student Advisor: As the newest member to ELS Boston I hold a BA in Spanish and am a certified TEFL instructor. Recently returning to Boston from Spain, where I taught English in various academies and Fortune 500 companies, I love being an ISA and arranging fun activities. In my spare time I am an ESL writing specialist at our host institution, Mt. Ida College. I also love to read wine taste, dance, and shop.
