Our ELS Language Center in Cleveland, Ohio is located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Case Western is a prestigious private university that has been ranked in the top 50 of national universities by U.S. News & World Report magazine. Cleveland combines the urban sophistication of a modern city with the traditions and values of America's heartland. Cleveland's Orchestra, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History and Botanical Gardens are less than an 8-minute walk from the Center.

Through regularly organized activities you can practice English both in and out of the classroom with native guest speakers or American students discussing various topics.
Access to Campus Facilities/Services
ELS students may use many of the facilities at our host college/university for free (or low cost) during their studies. Available facilities may vary, but usually include a fitness center, swimming pool, campus library, tennis court, and more.
Concurrent Enrollment at Host College
ELS students who have received conditional acceptance from the host college/university may have the chance to attend one or more individual college courses (for credit) while still studying in the Intensive English Program or Fast Track Program.

John Olsen
My name is John Olsen and I am the Center Director of the ELS Language Center in Cleveland, Ohio. When I was 19, I went to Germany, where I lived with a German family and took a German for Foreigners class before starting my studies at the University of Hamburg. So I did exactly what you are planning to do now and I know exactly how you feel! I hope to welcome many of you at our center soon!
Shelly Blitz
Hi. I am Shelly Blitz, the Academic Director at ELS Language Centers in Cleveland. I became interested in ESL when I was studying in Italy. I returned to the U.S. to get my Masters in TESOL and went back over to Hungary to teach. When I came home, I became a teacher at ELS. ELS gives students the chance to learn English, meet new friends, and discover a foreign country. I look forward to meeting all of you to the Cleveland center.
Alexis Hide
My name is Alexis Hide and I am the IELTS Administrator at ELS Language Centers in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to moving to Cleveland I studied and taught in Italy, so I understand how learning a new language can be both amazing and challenging. I enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures. Martha Witkowska
My name is Martha Witkowska and I am the International Student Advisor at ELS in Cleveland. I started teaching after obtaining my CELTA in Krakow, Poland, where I taught ESL for several years. I have also taught in London, Sardinia, and New York City. Traveling, teaching, and learning about new cultures is my passion. I thoroughly enjoy meeting international students, helping them adapt to American culture, and assisting them in reaching their goals for the future. See you in Cleveland!
