ELS/호놀룰루 센터는 하와이 주 최대의 사립 대학교인 Hawai’i Pacific University (HPU)의 시내 캠퍼스 내에 위치합니다. The ELS General English program gives you the opportunity to improve your English by focusing on the skills you will need to communicate well in everyday business and social settings. The four morning classes focus on the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills necessary to communicate effectively in English. The two afternoon Skills Enhancement Classes let you apply what you learn in the morning in a communicative and natural context. You have the opportunity to learn more about American culture, improve your vocabulary and use of idioms and conduct meaningful and productive conversations.

College Class Visits and Auditing
ELS Intensive students (in key levels) can visit one or more college classes, depending on professor approval.
College Credit for ELS
Eligible ELS students can receive academic credit from the ELS host college/university for having completed key ELS level(s). This credit may be applied toward any degree eventually earned at that college, but is not transferable should the student transfer to another college or university.
Scholarships/Discounts
After completion of the full ELS Intensive English Program qualified students may receive credit for ELS and/or tuition discounts at select host universities and colleges, once they matriculate.
Access to Campus Facilities/Services
ELS students may use many of the facilities at our host college/university for free (or low cost) during their studies. Available facilities may vary, but usually include a fitness center, swimming pool, campus library, tennis court, and more.
Volunteerism Experience
ELS Language Centers offers a unique opportunity for full-time students who wish to participate in volunteer experiences at public and private, national and local organizations that provide services to adults, youth, children, elderly, handicapped and needy, or services protecting and improving the environment. Students who complete this experience will receive a certificate, which recognizes their participation.
Concurrent Enrollment at Host College
ELS students who have received conditional acceptance from the host college/university may have the chance to attend one or more individual college courses (for credit) while still studying in the Intensive English Program.

Roger Fong
Roger, Center Director was born and raised in Panama City, Panama. He has lived in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Boston, Amsterdam, Paris, Luzern and now proudly calls Hawaii home. A graduate from the California State University system as well as having attended the Sorbonne and the University of Paris, Roger has been in the ESL world since 1993. He enjoys spending his weekends trying to find the most “authentic” Mexican cuisine on the island.
Ivan Lui
Ivan is the International Student Advisor at ELS, Honolulu. He is from O’ahu, Hawai’i, the second of three sons, and is married. He has a degree in psychology/counseling, and he likes taking long walks and bike rides anywhere because it gives him time to explore and think. In addition to playing and taking care of two guinea pigs, he likes to cook and eat especially spicy and garlicky foods.
Jared Lawrence
Jared, Registrar, is originally from the state of Alabama. He is a graduate of Union University in Tennessee with a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. Travelling is one of his favorite things to do, including trips to Brazil and Vietnam, and he hopes to visit many more places in the future. He and his wife love going to the beach, reading, eating (especially Thai, Korean, or Mexican food), hiking, and anything outdoors
Maria Levy
Maria, the Academic Director, is a graduate of the University of Hawaii. Originally from Germany, Maria has been living in Hawaii for over ten years. She enjoys teaching English as well as learning about languages from around the world.
Cibele Randall
Cibele is the Housing Coordinator/IELTS Administrator for ELS Honolulu. She is originally from Brasilia, Brazil and the second of three daughters. She moved to the US in 2006 and was recently married and has a newborn daughter. Her degree is in Business Administration and she enjoys cooking and baking. She also likes to watch cooking shows as this gives her fresh new ideas of things to make for her friends and family.
