Four private bedrooms sharing a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms in each apartment. ***Meningitis Vaccination Notification*** All students who plan to live on campus are required to show evidence of being immunized against bacterial meningitis. Student must receive the immunization at least fourteen days prior to taking up residence in on campus housing. Acceptable evidence of vaccination includes one of the following: "A letter that indicates the month, day, and year of the immunization with the signature stamp of the physician or his/her designee;" or "An official immunization record generated from a local health department translated in English. Please submit evidence of your immunization to the center (lub@els.edu) for processing. This documentation must be received two weeks before your arrival. If this documentation is not received two weeks prior to student's arrival, it may be delay the entry in to campus housing.

Center Director
Liz came to Lubbock after living in Taiwan for 10 years. She started teaching English as a Second Language in 2001 and was the Director of an English school in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for over 7 years. Liz has a long-standing connection to the international student community, serving as teacher, administrator and host family. She has travelled to over 30 countries and loves making connections with people from all over the world!
Academic Director
Zachary Hausrath is the Academic Director. He holds a Masters of Education in Literacy and Second Language Studies as well as a certificate of Postsecondary Literacy Instruction from the University of Cincinnati. He lived and worked in several countries as a student, teacher and administrator before joining ELS Cincinnati in 2011. He looks forward to growing the community in Lubbock!
International Student Advisor
Mary Katherine moved to Lubbock from Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Spanish. While a student at the University of Alabama, she volunteered with the International student Program and enjoyed meeting other students from all around the world. She has also taught young Spanish-speaking students. She enjoys reading, learning to cook, and spending time with friends and family.
Registrar
Kathy has had the opportunity to live in and visit many different places, such as Okinawa, Ecuador, Mexico and almost every state in the US. Family is very important to Kathy. She is the mother of two daughters and a grandmother of two grandsons. She moved to Lubbock eight years ago to be near her oldest daughter. She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and learning about other cultures.

First of all, I was studying English for 8 months here in north Texas. And once the Lubbock ELS Center comes here, I quickly registered. And then I realized it's a really great place to learn English, and I now regret because I didn't study in ELS Centers for the last 8 months that I studied.

ELS/Lubbock students joined Texas Tech University graduate students for a Technical Communication and Rhetoric class. ELS/Lubbock and Texas Tech students will be collaborating throughout the spring semester.

Officers from the Texas Tech Police Department presented a seminar on personal safety and communicating with law enforcement officials. Students had to opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the Crime Prevention officers.
