What is Conditional Admission?
Institutions in the ELS University Conditional Admission Network offer conditional admission to students who are academically admissible based on the student’s academic record and other university and/or departmental and program requirements, but who have not yet demonstrated English proficiency. Your admission is “conditional” based upon satisfying English proficiency through completion of a specified level of the ELS English for Academic Purposes program and any other specific requirements prior to full admission. Once these requirements are fulfilled, you are able to fully matriculate. These requirements will be outlined on your Conditional Letter of Admission, and your selected ELS center will assist you in completing all of the necessary requirements for matriculation.
Additional matriculation requirements may include other required scores, for example, GMAT® or GRE® for graduate programs.
Our ELS University Partners will offer a Conditional Letter of Admission (CLA) detailing the additional requirements needed for matriculation. You and your family can be assured that you have a university placement and ELS registration prior to departing for the USA.
What is the Conditional Admission Process?

I have been studying at ELS Melbourne for three months, but it only feels like one or two days. I remember being a little nervous on my first day, but everyone talked to me and asked me if I needed help. ELS Melbourne works as a family.
The teachers are very helpful, and I love my classes. The teachers have a great way of explaining things to make sure we understand what is being taught.
I have a lot of friends at ELS Melbourne. We eat lunch together, go out on the weekends, and help each other with homework.
If you want to study English, ELS Melbourne is the best place. I love ELS Melbourne, and Mrs. Betty Jean!

Naoyuki ~ Nagareyama, Japan
Hello everyone! I am Naoyuki, and I am from Japan. I started studying at ELS Melbourne a session and a half ago. I have been working hard to do my best, and I think my ability to use English is improving thanks to my many teachers, friends, and host family.
In addition, ELS provides us with many interesting activities, such as Universal’s Islands of Adventures, and the beach party. These activities also helped me make a lot of friends and improve my English skills.
I can’t help appreciating ELS Melbourne! I want to continue doing my best and want everyone to see my English improvements before I go back to Japan.

I have been studying at ELS Melbourne for six months. This was one of the best choices I have made in my life. I have had many experiences with wonderful friends and teachers, such as the beach party, Universal Studios in Orlando, Kennedy Space Center, and sports. I have really enjoyed all of them and have great memories of Melbourne.
Every teacher has stuck with me through thick and thin. Also, students from all over the world are really friendly and kind. If you want to study English at ELS, I recommend ELS Melbourne.
