Meet the Staff

Donna Myers

Donna Myers

Center Director

Welcome to Nashville, otherwise known as "Music City"! I have enjoyed working with international students for 10 years, and have been fortunate to meet so many smart, warm, and interesting people! Having traveled and lived overseas myself, I have struggled with many of the challenges our students face living in a "strange" place and learning a new language. Nashville is a great place to study and explore. The people are friendly, there is lots of great music, and you cannot beat the cost of living!

Academic Director

I am originally from Azerbaijan, Baku. I speak Azerbaijani, English, Russian, and Turkish fluently and understand Persian. I have taught ESL for twenty years. As a language student and teacher, I am well aware of the problems that language learners face. I am especially sensitive to the practical aspects of using the English language in everyday life. As Academic Director of the Nashville ELS Center, I am delighted to be participating in the creation of a high-quality academic program and working with professional staff, experienced teachers, and motivated students. Our center is an enjoyable place to learn English and will meet high standards we have set ourselves from the start. Come and explore the world of English in Nashville!

International Student Advisor

For the past few years, I have had the great experience of helping students from all over the world that have come to the US with the dream of learning English. It is such a rewarding experience to help students and to have the added benefit of learning about the uniqueness of each student’s life. I have worked as both a program coordinator for an ESL program and an ESL teacher. My greatest joy is watching the confidence of students grow as they learn and apply new concepts. I hope to work in partnership with you on your journey to attaining your goals and dreams. I understand the challenges and struggles that may come when you are in a new country learning a new language, but I am here to help, support, and at times even challenge you toward success. I look forward to working with you!

Registrar

Most of my life I have enjoyed knowing people from all over the world. I even lived in another country for two years with, my husband and daughters. During those years, I tried to learn Arabic and French, so I know how important and challenging it is to learn a new language! I love my job at ELS helping students reach their personal, educational, and career goals as they learn English in Nashville.
