Center Director
I have been with ELS for five wonderful years. I've migrated across the state of Florida to follow the growth of the company. I was born in the Philippines, but grew up in the United States. I have a Master's degree in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies. I began teaching Spanish after my undergratuate degree and continued teaching English as a Second Language when I began my graduate program. Teaching and working with international students have been both challenging and rewarding. Seeing the students gain the English that they need to go to a US university is my biggest reward in my job.
Academic Director
My name is Amy Beam and I started with ELS back in 2010 as an Instructor. I taught ESL in Japan for two years. I realized then that my love was to teach international students and help them with their goals of learning English. I was promoted to Academic Director in 2011. I enjoy being able to teach as well as shape and grow both our instructional staff as well as our many students.
Registrar
I have been with ELS Tampa since the center opened in August of 2010.
I handle student finances, housing and coordinate with the other staff members to ensure all students are satisfied with their ELS experience.
I studied various languages and love working with International students.
Seeing the students succeed and achieve their language goals at ELS is what makes me happy.

Before I came ELS Tampa, I used to study English in California. There are many Japanese Students so I wasn't able to use English much. On the other hand, in ELS Tampa, there are less Japanese. I have more opportunity to speak English. Plus staff, teachers and students are really nice and helpful. Since I came here, my English has improved. Thanks to them. I recommend ELS Tampa. Thank you!
