Center Director
I have lived nearly half my life outside of the United States. When I was young, I lived in Belgium for 7 years with my mother, older sister and younger brother. I learned to speak French and play soccer there. I went to High School and College in Maryland before moving to California. While in California, I became interested in Japanese food, culture, and the language. Eventually, I went to Japan to teach English there. I worked and lived in Hiroshima for nearly 14 years. I have many hobbies, such as cooking (and eating) foods from many different countries. I also like to watch English Premiere League soccer matches on TV and travel when I find the time.
Academic Director
I have taught English in places that are unknown to many people. While studying for my bachelor’s degree in English at Oklahoma Baptist University, I spent a year teaching at XinJiang University in Urumqi, China. After completing my degree, I studied for my master’s at Oklahoma State University. When I finished my degree, I started teaching ESL here in Oklahoma. A few years later, my family and I moved to Almaty, Kazakhstan where I taught English at a university. I traveled to much of Central Asia including my first Asian home, Urumqi. Returning to the US, I am serving both students and teachers at ELS. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys, reading philosophy, meeting people from all over the world, and taking every opportunity to travel.
International Student Advisor
I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2010 with a Degree in Child & Family Services. During my time in college I spent a semester studying on the little Island of Malta and had the opportunity to travel to a variety of countries in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. I love being around people from other cultures and after being an international student at one time, I realize the need for help when studying abroad. My position at ELS is giving me an opportunity to do both!
Registrar
I am a Gujurati, Indian-American who was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2001, I moved to Norman, Oklahoma to attend the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, I moved to Oklahoma City for work in politics. I have also worked for a bank processing consumer and commercial lending.
When I returned from a five month overseas trip to India and Dubai, I joined ELS Language Centers as a teacher for one session, and now I am the Registrar. I manage all student billing and am in charge of accepting all payments for tuition and housing. I also assist with the IELTS testing here at our center.
I love learning about new cultures and people’s customs. I have visited many countries and love to travel. Some of them include: India, Dubai, France, England, and The Netherlands. I have one cat, Jag, who is like his owner and loves to travel to Tulsa to visit family.
Administrative Assistant
Both foreign and local cultures draw me in. I've visited most of the United States, parts of Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. With most of my travel experience having been in the western world, I chose to study Spanish in school. I also enjoy programming, digital applications and technology, and have several years of experience working in the field of IT and computers. My degree is in graphic design and I spend free time creating digital and traditional media as well as enjoying the beauty and aesthetics of the natural world around me.
