Center Director
I am committed to education and learning. My philosophy of education is that I do not teach subjects. I teach students to love to learn.
I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck NJ campus, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Lehman College, CUNY. I have worked as a Long-Term Elementary/Middle School Substitute teacher, and I currently serve as a member of my local River Vale Board of Education. I was elected to the County Executive Board of Education for three consecutive 3-year terms. I have been a District Manager of the Girl Scouts of the USA in The Hague, Netherlands; in West Des Moines, IA; and in River Vale, NJ as well as a Troop Committee Chairman for USA Boy Scouts in River Vale, NJ.
I grew up in New York City, which is a multi-cultural area. I have lived in New York; Washington, DC; Maryland; Iowa and now New Jersey. I also spent nine years living in Holland (The Netherlands) and was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and experience many cultures. I understand Dutch, and although I have not spoken it in many years, my comprehension is fair.

I decided to come to ELS Teaneck because I have family living near the center. At first, I was a little worried – new school, new teachers, new house, and new country. However, my first day here, I felt something special. I love the teachers, the new friends from different countries, the trips to New York, the parties for new students. I feel like these “new” people are like a family. If you need help, they help you. I f you have a problem; they do everything to solve it. The most important thing is they really know how to improve your English. I suggest that everyone come here and see how great this family is!
