Homestays are in residential, tree-lined neighborhoods, usually within walking distance or a short shuttle or bus ride to campus, while some students choose to bike. ELS students usually have single rooms with a private or shared bathroom. All homes have heating and air conditioning, wireless internet, and access to kitchens and laundry. Public transportation and shopping is convenient and nearby.

Merion Gardens is conveniently located steps from Overbrook Train Station and within walking distance to SJU's Campus and ELS Center.Rooms include cookware, Wi-Fi, and linens; washer and dryer on each floor. One bedroom apartment with 2 twin beds. Shared bathroom (1 per apartment). Each apartment offers a furnished living room, dining area, and kitchen and has free, internet access. Rooms include 2 desks, 2 closets & 2 night tables. Linens are also included. Free coin-operated washers and dryers are located on each floor. Security: Safety features include ID swipe entrance, 24-hour full-time security guard at desk at entrance;, and keys for each apartment. 24-hour Security Desk at entrance; Card access. A Resident Advisor is located on every floor.
