Student Residence (On Campus)

Living on campus is a great choice for students who want the full university experience. Living on campus allows for more interaction with Americans and students can join the Ohio Dominican World Friendship Club, which promotes the inclusion of international students through group activities and excursions. Fitzpatrick Hall is a co-ed but gender-specific-floor residence. Students are housed in spacious double rooms. There are large community bathrooms on each floor. Laundry facilities are located in the basement. Parking is close and convenient. The common area on the first floor is a great place to meet with friends or hold a study group. Located in the heart of campus, the Center, student union, fitness center, library and other facilities are all within a 5-minute walk. The dormitory is also adjacent to the 22-mile Alum Creek Trail, making it very convenient to walk, run, or bike through a beautiful, peaceful, and secluded wetland area that was once part of the historic Underground Railroad. Upon arrival students receive bed linens and a welcome pack that includes small toiletry and food items to help them settle in after a long trip. Safety is very important. Public Safety Officers and Resident Assistants are available 24 hours per day seven days per week.

Panther Deli is located on the first floor of the student center and serves Seattle¿s Best Coffee, Simply To Go carryout items, snacks, and sandwiches made to order. The Panther Grille serves up late night eats like pizza, burgers, specialty sandwiches, and fries. During times of university closure boxed meal replacements are provided for students living on campus.

Live like a local with host families. American families are often very different from how they are portrayed in the media. Each one is unique; staying with an American family is an eye-opening experience into different lifestyles. It is common for families to have children and pets - the more the merrier! Everyone helps out around the house and students are responsible for keeping their bedroom area neat and generally picking up after themselves. The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) bus line serves the Columbus area and there are two bus stops within a 15-minute walk of the Center. Students may be responsible for transportation to/from the Center.
