ELS Milwaukee is located on the campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Situated on the western shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is the largest city in the state and enjoys a rich heritage complete with preserved historic neighborhoods. The city is also home to a lively arts scene, year-round festivals and events, and diverse restaurants.
ELS/Milwaukee has a variety of families and homes for their location.
The average commute time is currently 35-45 minutes by car, and in some cases, host families are willing to provide transportation, although not required. The Center's homestays are conveniently located close to bus stop;s, so students have the freedom to travel at their own pace. Almost all new homestay families are less than 30-40 minutes by public transportation.
Home types vary, but in general, ELS host families live in safe and pleasant neighborhoods near the Center. ELS students will be assigned single rooms, some with shared bathrooms. All homes have heating and air conditioning, along with wireless internet. ELS students will have access to kitchen and laundry areas in the home.
