Lewis accepts completion of ELS intensive English for Academic Purposes Level 112 as fulfillment of the English proficiency requirement for both its undergraduate and graduate programs.  Most programs will issue you a Letter of Conditional Admission (CLA) based upon completion of Level 112.  Conditional admission lets you know, before you leave home, that you will be admitted once you successfully demonstrate English proficiency.

ELS/Chicago – Romeoville

ELS/Chicago – Romeoville will be located in Mother Teresa Hall, while classrooms will be located in both Mother Teresa and Dorothy Day Hall.  These two new buildings are next to each other.  You will have use of the Lewis University library, gymnasium, swimming pool, computer center, and other recreational and social facilities.

On-campus housing will be available in a traditional residence hall.  You can also choose to live in a homestay.


Romeoville and nearby Chicago, Illinois

Romeoville is a small city of about 40,000 residents. A peaceful town, Romeoville offers numerous parks and nature preserves for enjoying the outdoors.  The area is home to numerous historical sites, museums and tourist attractions.

Philip Lynch Theater:
  One of the area’s first–rate attractions, the Philip Lynch Theater, is located right on the Lewis University campus!  It hosts a popular mix of musical and theatrical productions.  Fun times are just footsteps away.

Rialto Square Theater: Want even more entertainment?  The Rialto Square Theater in Joliet is only 20 minutes away.  Nationally known music acts, dance companies and seasonal celebrations combine to offer attractive events for you and your friends.

Chicagoland Speedway:  The speedway is located in Joliet and is a significant location for major NASCAR events.  The speedway itself is known to be one of NASCAR’s infamous “cookie cutter” speedways.

First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre:  Located in Tinley Park, the amphitheater is just 30 minutes from the Romeoville city center and is one of the largest music venues in the Chicago area.  It has a capacity of up to 28,000 spectators.  You can enjoy virtually any kind of music there.
