ELS New York - Hofstra is located on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, just 40 minutes from New York City via the convenient and accessible Long Island Railroad. You will enjoy a traditional campus experience while also taking advantage of the nearby networking, internships, entertainment and culture of Manhattan.
New York City and Other Nearby Cities: Manhattan is an easy train ride away from the Hofstra campus, and weekend trips are possible to other nearby cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
On-campus Culture and Beauty: Hofstra University hosts multiple festivals throughout the year. You can also visit the Hofstra University Museum, home to thousands of works of art and outdoor sculptures.
Jones Beach: Only 20 minutes from campus, enjoy boating and swimming at Jones Beach.
Colonial Square (Quincy) houses students in 4-person apartments where 2 students share a bedroom.
Students have access to a full size refrigerator, a furnished kitchen, a couch, upholstered chairs, closets, dressers, desks, air conditioning.

Cost per Session
Students do not receive a set number of meals per week. A $500 meal allowance on the student ID card each session.
Most host families have a 30 minute average commute. They are located in safe and convenient neighborhoods surrounding the campus. They all have easy access to public transportation.
Students are placed in single rooms with a shared bathroom. Families offer 16 meals peer week and free internet. Free parking may be available on street.
