Housing Options

Student Residence (On Campus)

Draper/Harris studio dormitory rooms are in the same set of buildings as the ELS Oklahoma City Center, so students are only a few steps away from their classes. Each room is single occupancy with a shared bathroom and contains a bed, dresser, student desk and chair, study lamp, and small refrigerator. All rooms have central heating and air conditioning. Students have access to free laundry facilities, WiFi, and student lounges. All ELS student dorm/apartment options are on the Oklahoma City University campus, and students can enjoy university facilities and amenities, including the dining hall (multiple meal options). fitness center, student health center, bookstore, Dulaney-Browne Library, and post office. Students have free use of the intramural sports field and can join intramural sports teams (soccer, table tennis and more) at no cost. They also have free use of the volleyball pit and basketball court on campus. Students age 18+ can rent cars on campus for a few hours or a weekend through a membership program with Enterprise. Students can also enjoy the ELS student lounge or the individual student residence lounges and recreational facilities on campus. There is an area where students can smoke just off campus (a 1-2 minute walk). Each student has his/her own room key and stairwell key/card. All campus facilities - including dormitories - are monitored by camera and the OCU Police Department. Police officers are available 24 hours a day to assist students in an emergency. Homestay

Host families offer students a "home away from home." Students have the chance to improve their English conversation skills and learn about American culture and customs. Many students form lifelong friendships with their homestay families. Most families live close to ELS and provide transportation to students, driving them to ELS in the morning and picking them up after classes and activities. All students have a private bedroom with a study desk and WiFi access, a student bathroom, and 14 meals a week (breakfast and dinner).

Student Residence (On Campus)

The Methodist/Cokesbury on-campus apartments are a 2-3 minute walk from ELS/OKC. Each room is single occupancy with a private bathroom and a shared kitchen/kitchenette and living room. All apartments contain a single or full bed, dresser, student desk and chair, kitchen appliances, and a full set of moveable living room furniture. Students have access to free laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and the nearby OCU fitness center, library and dining options. All rooms have central air conditioning and heating. Methodist Hall is an enclosed facility with inside hallways, an interior courtyard, and secure basement-level parking. The complex has a movie room and community room. Cokesbury Court has an outdoor swimming pool, clubhouse and barbecue pit, as well as private parking next to each apartment. Resident Advisers: Located in every building (Cokesbury) or on every floor (Methodist). Security: Apartment rooms, front doors and building doors remain locked and are accessible by student key or card. Campus is continuously monitored by OCU police department. Campus has multiple security cameras and emergency phone kiosks.
