ELS English for Academic Purposes

Choose the ELS English for Academic Purposes program to help you gain the skills you need to be successful in an English-speaking college or university setting, and beyond.

In addition to listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar, your coursework will focus on crucial academic success skills like critical thinking, presentations and public speaking, note taking, and research. This intensive, academically-focused course is offered to students ranging in language ability from Beginner to Master.

 

Key Program Facts

  • Minimum Age: Varies by Center and housing option
  • Maximum Number of Students: 20 students (Skills Enhancement Classes); 15 students (all other classes, including Structure and Speaking Practice and Reading & Writing)
  • Sessions: 26 convenient start dates per year
  • Levels: 12 Levels, Beginner through Master (101 – 112)
