About This Center

ELS/Berkeley is located in Hillside Hall, a residence and classroom facility, which houses both ELS students and American students. Many of the world’s greatest scholars have studied in Berkeley, and students can take advantage of many libraries, cafes and bookstores. ELS is in an ideal location near the San Francisco Bay Area that enjoys a temperate climate, good public transportation and easy access to San Francisco, San Jose and Marin County. Berkeley is also located near Muir Woods and Napa Wine Country. The city of Berkeley has a small population, but a big reputation and is host to many art and cultural activities including numerous festivals.
