About This Center

ELS/San Francisco - Downtown is located on the city campus of Golden Gate University (GGU), in the heart of world famous San Francisco. Known for its friendliness and spirit of individualism, the “City by the Bay” is a center of culture and finance with a distinct international flavor. Popular sites and activities include Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, sporting events, day trips to Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Monterey Bay, the famous Napa and Sonoma Valley wine country and weekend trips to Yosemite, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. San Francisco has twice been named the “World’s Top City” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. Students can also enjoy professional sports teams, numerous festivals and events, museums and much more!

Student Residence (Off Campus)

STUDENTS MUST CHECK IN AT THE BUNKHOUSE: 240 O'FARRELL STREET SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94102
ELS students will enjoy Herbert/Spaulding's double-occupancy rooms with private baths. Each room has its own TV, small refrigerator, and a desk and bed for each student. Housekeeping and linen services are provided. The hotel lounge area is equipped with a microwave and widescreen TV, with access to a full shared kitchen in the Spaulding building. Laundry facilities are also available on the premises. Continental breakfast is included.
The Herbert/Spaulding Hotel complex offers ideal security and support. Front desk and housekeeping staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The buildings organize regular student activity nights and movies to promote the student community
