ELS Programs in Canada
Your General English schedule is split into morning and afternoon instruction. In the mornings, you will study the basics of the English language through Structure and Speaking Practice or Language Studies, Vocabulary Enrichment (or Skills Enhancement, in Master's levels), and a lesson in the Language Technology Center. Your afternoons will focus on Skills Enhancement Classes.
You will gain a strong comprehension of the English language through our core classes that focus on each of the vital building blocks of English proficiency:
Exact courses offered at each location may vary, but Skills Enhancement Classes can help you improve on a variety of language skills through courses that cover topics such as:
- Current events
- Public speaking
- Creative writing and more
ELS offers 12 proficiency levels (Beginner to Masters), as well as placement testing to determine the level that best fits your abilities. At the end of every four-week session, if you successfully meet your level's requirements, you will move up to the next level. As you progress through the levels, your courses build upon the skills you learned in the lower levels and become more complex.
In addition to the classes, there’s also plenty to do in Vancouver, and you’ll be immersed in the lifestyle from day one. With group excursions and daily social activities, you have the chance to explore the city and learn more about the local culture.

Words from our students
ELS improved my language. Then, they corrected my grammar mistakes and told me many things about my major. Also, they told me how I can get admission [to university], and there are some classes to help me with my major. They gave me many after-school classes every month. I will start university to catch my goal, and I would like to come back and visit my teachers in ELS because I really made new friends there.Bandar - ELS Intensive English Alumni, Purdue University Graduate, Saudi Arabia
