Our Semi-Intensive English language program offers students the opportunity to study English in the United States, while also having the freedom to explore and experience the culture. This is done through a structured schedule, where students attend English classes during the morning and have the afternoons to themselves, allowing them to meet new friends, visit landmarks or plan trips to exciting new places.
The Semi-Intensive English morning classes focus on the building blocks of English proficiency: Structure and Speaking Practice or Language Studies, Vocabulary Enrichment, and a lesson in the Language Technology Center.
With the focus on these pillars of language, students come away with a real understanding of the applications of English in real life. Our goal is for students to not only have a foundational understanding of the English language, but to feel comfortable and confident using these English skills in both academic and social settings.
The freedom provided to students in Semi-Intensive English language classes allows them to get a real cultural experience during their stay in the United States. This freedom is designed to allow students to take the lessons they learn in the classroom and apply them to real-life situations.
As students continue to explore and insert themselves into cultural activities, they gain valuable lessons in the applications of the English language. This freedom to interact and engage with other people in organic social settings, combined with the structured lessons in the morning provides the perfect balance for learning English.
The balance of the Semi-Intensive English language courses is what makes them so unique. For international students looking to learn English and become comfortable with American culture, this is the perfect program. To learn more or to sign up, contact your local ELS center or use the form below.

ELS offers 12 proficiency levels (Beginner to Masters), as well as placement testing to determine the level that best fits your abilities. At the end of every four-week session, if you successfully meet your level's requirements, you will move up to the next level. As you progress through the levels, your courses build upon the skills you learned in the lower levels and become more complex.
