About This Center

The ELS English Language Center in Tampa is located at The University of Tampa, which promotes a richly diverse learning community that has students from all 50 states and more than 140 countries. Students taking English classes in Tampa are within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and the popular Riverwalk, which is the city’s restored downtown waterfront area.

Tampa enjoys warm and beautiful weather year-round while offering Gulf Coast beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, and theme parks within easy reach. In Tampa, there’s no shortage of exciting cultural activities for students, from outdoor sports and relaxation to arts and entertainment to sunshine and sandy beaches.

Learn English at the University of Tampa

Boasting a very social campus, the private University of Tampa has more than 150 student clubs and organizations. The university also offers a diverse range of academic options with 200 areas of undergraduate study. ELS students have access to a computer center for extra study time and a state-of-the-art fitness center complete with weight training and cardio equipment.

Upon successful completion of ELS Level 112, you will fulfill the English language entry requirement for conditional admission to the University of Tampa, as well as additional nearby partner colleges and universities.

Host families live within a 30-mile radius of the University of Tampa campus and ELS Tampa. Transportation is available through some host families, and otherwise through public transit, depending on the distance from the center.
