Take advantage of ELS’s long-standing partnerships with many college and university partners in the United States and enjoy the most complete English learning experience designed to develop your language proficiency to support success in English-speaking higher education.

With ELS Conditional Admission, we’ll help you secure conditional admission to an undergraduate or graduate degree program at one of our 40+ priority partner schools in the USA, with no IELTS or TOEFL test required. You’ll start your journey in ELS’s Intensive English program. Once you complete either ELS 109 or 112, you’ll be ready to transfer to your chosen higher education program and will be well prepared for success in the American higher education system.

ELS Conditional Admission is for you if:

You want to attend an American university but need to improve your English to meet the English language entry requirement for a higher education program in the USA (no TOEFL or IELTS test score required!).
You would like support selecting the right university, applying for conditional admission, submitting your English certificate upon completion of your ELS program, and transitioning to university in the USA.
You want to experience the most comprehensive English study program (ELS’s Intensive English) to prepare you for success in an American community college or university.
You want the experience of learning English on a US university or college campus while still benefiting from the small class sizes and personalized attention of a dedicated English language school.

What is Conditional Admission?

A conditional admission means that you have been accepted to your university of choice upon completion of your English language studies. Your admission will be updated to a “full acceptance” once you present the university or college with your ELS Certificate of Completion as proof of English language proficiency.

How it Works:

STEP 1

Submit your ELS Application and your University Conditional Admission Application.

STEP 2

Receive your Conditional Admission offer from the University and your ELS I-20.

STEP 3

Study ELS Intensive English. (Complete ELS 109 or 112 depending on you're the requirement of your chosen university.)

STEP 4

Enter your undergraduate or graduate program at your chosen university.

Students enjoy four 50-minute lessons each Morning, Monday to Friday, and two and a half 50-minute lessons each afternoon, Monday to Thursday** for a total of 30 lessons per week. Schedule is a sample only and may vary depending on your level and location.

University Admissions Assistance

Before you even leave home to learn English, you can take full advantage of securing your conditional admission to over 40 of ELS’s many partner colleges and universities in the USA. You can apply for conditional admission for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. A conditional admission means that you have been accepted to your university of choice upon completion of your English language studies. Your admission will be updated to a “full acceptance” once you present the university or college with your ELS Certificate of Completion as proof of English language proficiency.

Securing a “conditional admission” is very beneficial to your plans to study in the United States! You will have:

A full study plan that includes both English language studies and university plans before leaving your home country.
A smooth transition upon graduating with your ELS Certificate of Completion.
An estimated university program start date for which semester you will begin your studies.
